Wednesday Folders

Please sign and return all tests in the Wednesday folder. If you are unable to return the tests the next day because your child needs more time to make corrections, please send a note in the folder.

School Policies

A few reminders about school policies and safety procedures:

• Morning drop-off: Please use the parish hall or church parking lots when dropping off your child. The parking lot between the office and the elementary building is off-limits for drop-offs. Please help your younger child develop independence and adjust to the school day by saying good-bye outside. 
• Car line: Please put safety first during pick-up with the legally required use of car seats.
• Toys: Toys that are brought to school will be confiscated and returned to parents only. Playground balls are allowed.

Penmanship

The 3rd and 4th graders are making great progress with their cursive handwriting. By next week, we will have completed all of the lowercase letters and will begin on the capital letters. We are right on target for our switch to all cursive by the end of 1st Quarter in October.

Beginning next week, in line with a Diocesan initiative, all students in grades 3-8 will begin writing in black ink for all classwork and projects. (Exception: Math will continue to be done only in pencil.)  Each student will need to bring 5+ black ballpoint pens on Monday. Felt tip pens or erasable pens are not allowed. For now, homework can be done in black pen or pencil (again, Math is pencil only.) After Christmas,  black ink will be required on non-math homework also.

As we make the switch, the students will receive training in how to neatly cross out mistakes and other tips on using their pens.

Spirited Parents Wanted!

If you are interested in helping our school, please join our PTP.  We will have a short meeting at 6:00pm on Thursday in the Parish Hall for all those who wish to be part of this worthwhile organization.  Let's help build school community!

Room parents will also be meeting at 6 pm in the Parish Hall.

The students would love to win the raffle again! We hope all our parents can be there. With our winnings from last month, we bought new playground equipment: soccer ball, play ball, and badminton set. Next, we would like to get a new globe. So please join us at 7pm in the Parish Hall this Thursday night.
